Looking to grow their sports sponsorship portfolio and drive brand awareness around the globe, SportQuake helped Fun88 to become the front-of-shirt sponsor of Newcastle United in a long-term deal.

The Challenge

Having enjoyed success in their key Asian markets, Fun88 were ready to take the next step and make a global marketing play that would generate worldwide brand exposure and take their brand to the next level internationally.

The Solution

Following an extensive analysis, SportQuake worked with Fun88 to develop a Premier League shirt sponsorship strategy with Newcastle United for three key reasons:

  • Global Brand Awareness – Fun88 could drive awareness among the Premier League’s global 3.2bn annual audience via uniform branding at 38 games, as well as match day LED & interview backdrop coverage at all domestic Newcastle United home games.
  • Multi-channel Media Coverage – As shirt and training wear sponsor, Fun88 would accelerate brand exposure 24/7/365 via all online and offline club and Premier League coverage, including TV, digital, print and key related licensees, including EA Sports’ FIFA franchise & Fantasy Football.
  • Social media reach – Together, Fun88 and Newcastle could activate a co-ordinated digital and social media campaign to grow their footprint across their key Asian markets, leveraging the club’s existing social media accounts, as well as new Asia-specific channels on WeChat, Weibo and Dongqiudi.

The Result

The long-term partnership was announced ahead of the 2017/18 season, enabling Fun88 to drive instant brand awareness as the season got underway.
