Adidas and Nike have teamed up with Bitmoji to give football fans the opportunity to wear World Cup kits virtually, giving fans who missed out in real life the chance to don that Nigeria kit. Other Nike kits include England, Brazil, France, Poland, Portugal, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Australia and South Korea. Whilst Adidas fans will be able to wear Germany, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Egypt and hosts Russia.
Creator of Bitmojo, Ba Blackstock, said: “Football fans are passionate and creative, and with Bitmoji kits we’re giving supporters a new way to show their love of the game.”
The World Cup kits will allow Bitmoji to remain at the heart of the tournament, as World Cup fever sweeps across the globe. Utilising the football narrative when a company’s core product is not relevant, such as Bitmoji, allows a brand to remain topical without the overall delivery seeming too forced.
The Bitmoji’s will be able to be accessed in Snapchat, 3D Bitmoji AR Lenses, Google Chrome and Gmail extensions, Gboard for Android and Bitmoji keyboard for iOS.
