Wolves have become the first Premier League side to install a doubled LED system, which will deliver ‘supersized’ branded advertisements to viewers watching on TV. First used during Wolves’ 2-0 win over Southampton last weekend, the system allows sponsors to stretch content across two parallel LED displays – ultimately doubling the height of the adverts seen by the TV audience.
Wolves managing director, Laurie Dalrymple, said: “We wanted to create a digital platform that offers value for our partners, and the ability to deliver supersized brand content really offers that.”
The club also become the latest to buy into ADI’s digital board replacement (DBR) technology, allowing LED advertisements to be targeted for specific regions. Dalrymple continued: “The opportunity to help brands target specific regions using the virtual advertising functionality means we suddenly have a very compelling platform.”
