This week UEFA launched a new YouTube channel for its Together #WePlayStrong initiative. The channel will be home to content focussed on increasing participation of girls’ and women’s football in each of its 55-member nations.
The channel will provide a variety of original content from daily routines of players to football challenges. The channel will also operate as a platform for some of the world’s top-female players to grow their own profiles amongst female football fans.
UEFA announced a roster of female players who will regularly feature on the channel and will form a ‘content squad’ to provide the basis of the #WePlayStrong channel.
Director of Marketing at UEFA, Guy-Laurent Epstein, explained that: “In a world where YouTube plays a huge role in the life of girls and women, we’re proud to have added three more inspiring women footballers to our channel, and we’re looking forward to sharing their professional and personal journeys online.”
Women’s football continues to grow and last year Barcelona Women secured a landmark deal with Stanley Black & Decker. More here.
