This week Man United launched their home kit for the 2018/19 season, which will feature their first ever sleeve sponsor Kohler. Read more about the Kohler partnership here. The kit marks 140 years since the club was founded and Adidas have paid homage to this with a train track graphic, referencing United’s original name: Newton Heath.

Manchester United dominate when it comes to global shirt sales and according to the latest data the Red Devils sold close to 3 million shirts in 2016. With La Liga giants Real Madrid selling 2.29m and Barcelona selling 1.98m. The number of sales is thanks to United’s huge global fanbase, estimated to be 659m.

There has been some backlash over the kit regarding the cost with a full ‘authentic’ kit available for £183, this includes £109.95 for the shirt. However, fans are able to get the official replica shirt for £64.95.

The new home kit will be worn during United’s pre-season tour of the US.
