The NBA and Sky Sports have announced a new four-year broadcast and multi-platform partnership. Sky Sports become the NBA’s exclusive broadcast partner and official website operator in the UK and Ireland.
Representing the most extensive UK and ROI partnership for the NBA ever, Sky will broadcast more than 170 live games – including live weekend primetime games. Under the partnership WNBA matches and highlights will be broadcast via Sky Sports. Basketball fans can watch the NBA through Sky Sports now, whilst the WNBA coverage will start in 2019 when the season tips off in May.
UK fans will also be able to access online highlight videos, news and stats, as well as original content exclusively through Sky.
NBA EMEA vice president, global media distribution, Elsa Memmi said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.
“With a record number of weekend primetime games, a season-long schedule of live games and programming, and extensive highlights available online and on mobile, Sky Sports will be the true home of the NBA for fans.”
