The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) has approved a request from all clubs in the Serie A allowing teams to now have an official sleeve sponsor. The announcement means that in addition to the front-of-shirt and back-of-shirt sponsorships, Italian clubs will be able to sell a space of 100cm2 on the left sleeve of their shirts.

This new revenue stream for Serie A sides will be welcomed with open arms, as clubs such as AC Milan, Inter and Napoli continue to try and compete domestically with Juventus and in UEFA competitions.

The Premier League introduced sleeve sponsors ahead of the 2017/18 season with Manchester United earning a reported £20m per-season through their sponsor Kohler.
