Sunday saw a new world record attendance for a women’s football match with 60,739 attending Atletico Madrid v. Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano, which saw Barca run out 2-0 winners.

More evidence of 2019 being a tipping point for the women's game ahead of the World Cup later this year which is expected to pull in over a billion viewers.

In recent weeks Nike, Adidas, Lucozade, Gatorade, Budweiser and MasterCard have all announced women’s football partnerships.
