The NBA and Turner Sports are looking to bring a new viewing experience for fans during the 20 live streamed matches via Twitter this season. Twitter will offer single-player coverage to its audience, offering fans a way to view the game from a new perspective in real-time.
The NBA is the most followed sports league on Twitter, boasting 27.5m followers. The league will hand control to the followers before each match, allowing fans to vote for which player they want to see streamed.
The new feature will debut during the 2019 NBA All-Star Game on February 17th and will be available in the second half of each match that is streamed via Twitter.
This announcement follows Turner’s decision to allow subscribers to its digital NBA coverage to pay to watch games quarter by quarter. Also, this week they announced a collaboration with Yahoo on new Twitter show ‘The Bounce’.
