Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United after picking up just 26 points from the first 17 matches of the 2018/19 season, the Red Devils currently sit 6th in the table 19 points off leaders Liverpool.

During his time at United, Mourinho won the Europa League and Carabao Cup, but having spent close to £400m on new players and making little to no progress the decision was made to let the Special One go. However, according to reports Mourinho will receive a payout between £10m - £15m.

On Wednesday Man United announced that club legend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, would takeover as interim manager until the end of the season. He will also be joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach, together with Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna.
