Real Madrid are set to sign the most expensive kit deal in football history, as Los Blancos line up a ten-year €1.1bn extension with Adidas. The deal which would run from 2020 until 2030 would more than double the current €52m the club receives from the German sportswear giant each year.

The reported fee of €110m is only a guaranteed amount, which could rise to as much as €150m per-year depending on merchandising.

Once signed, the deal would see Madrid surpass rivals Barcelona at the top of the kit deal table.

The deal would also see Madrid becoming the highest earning club on Adidas’ roster, a position currently occupied by Manchester United (€85m p/a).

Should the billion-euro deal come to fruition, it will help Madrid massively as the club seek opportunities to fund the multi-million-euro redevelopment of the iconic Bernabeu stadium. More about the proposed redevelopment here.
