Japan crashed out of the World Cup on Monday, after conceding a goal in the 94th minute to lose 3-2 to Belgium, having led 2-0 until the 70th minute. Players from The Samurai Blue were distraught at full-time, with many players collapsing to the floor, while others were in tears.

Japan would have been forgiven for leaving the Rostov Arena as quickly as possible last night after suffering the last-minute heartbreak. However, Japan players took the time to clean their changing room after the match leaving the dressing room in spotless condition, accompanied with a thank you note written in Russian.

Throughout the tournament the Japanese supporters have been praised for staying behind after matches to clean the stadium – win or lose. The polite gesture was clearly contagious as the Senegalese fans also helped tidy the Moscow Stadium after the two sides met in the group stage.
