To mark 500 days until Euro 2020 kicks off, the FA launched its ‘Be Part Of It’ campaign to encourage the public to register to become a volunteer for the pan-European tournament. London is among 12 host cities, with Wembley being chosen to stage both semi-finals as well as the final itself on July 12th.

In a video, fronted by Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, the FA launched the campaign to kick-start the hunt for volunteers. Applications will be live in June 2019 with volunteers being chosen for various roles including accreditation, broadcast, fan zones, logistics, transport, spectator services and workforce.

Some 70,000 volunteers helped to make London 2012 such a success and Gareth Southgate said that Euro 2020 is another chance for the public to be part of something amazing, stating: “We are a nation of diverse backgrounds, full of ambition and one of the proud hosts of UEFA Euro 2020. It’s a great chance for people to come together and contribute to another incredible major sporting event in London.”
