Everton sleeve sponsor, Angry Birds, which is developed by games giant Rovio Entertainment have teamed up with the Toffees to transform Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun into personalised playable characters in the new Angry Birds ‘Evolution’.

Angry Birds has been downloaded nearly four billion times since its inception in 2009, as the game enters its second year as Everton’s official sleeve sponsor.

Walcott, Sigurdsson and Tosun are the only three football players in the world to have their own personalised characters within Angry Birds. Rovio undertook a similar activation during the 2012/13 NFL season when Angry Birds sponsored the Philadelphia Eagles.

Releasing Angry Birds: Philadelphia Eagles and featuring the character Mighty Philadelphia Eagle – this represented Rovio’s first global sports sponsorship. However, none of the Eagles players IP was used to create in-game characters.
