This week Chelsea announced Hyundai as their first ever official sleeve sponsor. News of the partnership was first reported in May, which claimed the deal would be worth £50m over five years. However, that figure is now expected to be lower as Chelsea have confirmed just a four-year contract with the Korean carmaker.

The deal marks Hyundai’s first venture into the UK football market and will see the company benefit from car displays at the club. As well as the usual full suite of rights for a deal of this size, including, LED perimeter boards, interview backdrop placement and digital content rights.

To launch the deal, Chelsea players Olivier Giroud, David Luiz and Tiemoue Bakayoko took part in a photoshoot with a difference. In the short film the Blues players turn up to a photoshoot where the Chelsea fans take centre stage and assume the roles more commonly associated with their heroes.
