The Allianz Arena, the home of Bayern Munich, continues to innovate and lead by example as Apple Pay has now been introduced along with other digital innovations as the German giants continue to enhance fan experience.

From December 19th iPhone and Apple Watch users will be able to use Apple Pay at all kiosks and fan stores within the stadium. The club have also introduced a Bundesliga first by utilising Apple Wallet, allowing fans to load their tickets digitally to their iPhones and Apple Watch to gain entry.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern chairman, said: “Our goal is to process ticketing using only digital technology so that in the future we can phase out paper tickets entirely. In addition to maximising user-friendliness, this step represents a valuable contribution to environmental protection and is thus a further measure in our sustainability strategy.”

The German giants have had a relationship with Apple since 2017 when they agreed a deal with Apple Music, which has seen the club curate bespoke playlists for fans around the world to listen to.
