On Wednesday April 11th JD Sports athlete and heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, shut down Oxford St. after he arrived at JD Sports to continue his #RoadToUndisputed. The WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO king was attending an event at JD’s flagship store where over 100 lucky customers got to meet the champ himself, with hundreds more fans outside the store sweeping the West End to catch a glimpse of AJ.

Anthony Joshua was made to be a JD ambassador. His background and sporting achievements coupled with his sparkling charisma and vision making him hugely influential amongst JD’s core customer group while at the same time authentically personifying what JD Sports is all about to mainstream audiences.

The event was attended by global media outlets including Sky Sports and celebrities such as grime artists Frisco and JayKae. During the event AJ took on the batak wall challenge, put Meridian Dan and Stevo The Madman through their paces and even surprised fans with some freestyle rap skills.

With speculation mounting about a possible showdown with WBC champion Wilder, the American now stands between the Watford-born fighter and undisputed glory. Speaking to Sky Sports, Joshua said: “I heard that there’s $100m on the table and he wants a 60-40 split so I say this: ‘offer me $60m straight and you take the rest of the gate.’

“If there’s $100m and I take 60% they should offer me $60m and I’ll take that fight in a heartbeat. The fight has to happen because it wouldn’t be great for this era in boxing if it doesn’t.”

JD have been supporting AJ on his journey to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world with their #RoadToUndisputed campaign – which featured a nationwide belt tour, content mini series and a host of other prizes and events in the build to AJ’s fight last month.

#RoadToUndisputed continues soon as JD will begin the second leg of the belt tour, with more details coming soon.
