Welcome to the game

After bringing Mansion.com into the Premier League by sourcing and negotiating their shirt deal on behalf of Tottenham Hotspur, Mansion.com became our start up client in 2006.

Mansion.com wanted to make a statement of intent to the gambling audiences in the emerging Asian markets. Their problem – betting brands are prohibited from advertising there.

Our insight – the Premier League is a ‘must see’ event in that market with huge audiences tuning in to channels who broadcast, in general, more live games than available in the UK.

By setting up Mansion.com as Spurs’ shirt sponsor, we guaranteed them instant and high impact access to a highly engaged and massive Asian fanbase, primed and ready to bet. While also sidestepping local advertising restrictions.

With grabbing attention at a premium, our activities include using Asian characters on shirt and LED advertising for the first time.

Mansion are still a client and we currently negotiate and project manage all of their football activity including becoming Manchester City’s International Betting Partner from 2011-12.

This long-term and ongoing relationship has shown its value many times over in enabling Sky Sports to reinforce their brand reputation, cement their relationship with their existing customers and acquire new ones.

Little Loans, Lots of Control.

Wonga.com are Europe’s fastest growing financial services company, and enlisted our help in 2010 to find out how they could use football to grow their brand even faster, and differentiate them from their competitors.

Going through our audit and analysis processes we agreed with Wonga.com that they should align themselves with then Premier League new boys, Blackpool FC.

The sponsorship has delivered for the brand on many different levels, and has also allowed Wonga.com to make a positive difference to the Club and its supporters.

Since signing the partnership with Blackpool in 2010, we are now working with Wonga.com to expand upon their existing football portfolio. So far this has seen the brand become Official Broadcast Sponsor of The FA Cup on ESPN, and also Main Club Sponsor of Heart of Midlothian FC.

Helping fans never miss a game.

West Midlands-based HomeServe are Britain’s home emergency repair experts, priding themselves on their reliable and friendly approach.

The business had traditionally been built on third party partnerships with utility companies but, more recently, they have been looking to develop their own brand further and faster.

HomeServe came to us for advice on how they could use football to grow as a B2C brand, and also promote their 0800 247 999 home emergency phone number throughout the UK. Newly-promoted Premier League side, West Bromwich Albion, were the perfect partner.

To bring this perfect match to life, we built a sponsorship program that delivered everything from brand awareness and brand credibility, to internal engagement and mutual initiatives to support HomeServe’s official charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care.

At the heart of all of the activity was a simple promise; we want HomeServe’s 0800 247 999 home emergency repair service to help fans never miss a game.

Getting the winning habit

In 2008, Sky identified cycling as their first major corporate sponsorship investment.

Sky’s high profile and high level, all-round funding spans a road team to win the Tour de France as well as headline sponsorship of Team GB to keep them on target for their gold medal chase at the London 2012 Olympics.

And, equally importantly, a major grassroots investment in SkyRide.

We helped Sky put together a group of commercial partners including Adidas, Pinarello, Gatorade and Jaguar to share a vision for UK and global cycling.

This vision, ‘Inspiration to Participation’, will combine elite success and grassroots activism to create a legacy of 1m more people cycling regularly by 2013.

Pan European Network join the big league

In 2009 we sourced and negotiated a shirt deal between 12 Bet and Sevilla FC in La Liga.

Less than one year old at the time, 12 Bet wanted to build big brand credibility fast in the rapidly growing and competitive Asian betting markets. However, without a UK betting licence in 2009 the Premier League was out of bounds to them.

Our analysis across all major European leagues identified La Liga as the next best platform and, with Sevilla freshly qualified for the Champions League, we tapped into our European network.
